Missing Players and team news:

Thomas Tuchel expects to recover Antonio Rudiger for the welcome of Real Madrid after he sat out the 2-0 win over Fulham with a knock. Mateo Kovacic, though, is ruled out for the home side, who could line up in the same XI that started the first leg. That would see Timo Werner partner Christian Pulisic on the frontline. However, after netting twice against the Cottagers, Kai Havertz will be pushing to lead the charge. Raphael Varane has been ruled out of Real Madrid’s second leg with an abductor injury to leave Zinedine Zidane with another headache at the back. Unless Sergio Ramos is fit enough to start, Nacho will fill in at centre-back. Eden Hazard put in a disappointing display against Osasuna on Saturday and it remains to be seen whether he’ll start on his old stomping ground. Lucas Vazquez and Dani Carvajal are certainly ruled out for the away side, and that could see use Alvaro Odriozola start at right-back, or as a wing-back if Zidane elects to use a three-man backline again. Marcelo was expected to miss the Chelsea game entirely, but the Brazilian has fulfilled his obligation to be part of a polling station in the Madrid Assembly elections and is free to travel.
